Handheld links to back office will revolutionise property maintenance 10-Oct-2002
Following a competitive tender, Impact:applications is the successful supplier of a back office operations management system to the West Midlands-based buildings maintenance contractor, Response Maintenance. Sophisticated internet technologies will provide office staff, customers and a mobile workforce with access to a full-blown operations management system covering all areas of the company's activity from estimates to stock control, labour scheduling to invoicing.
The company's tradesmen will link via portable devices to the back office to retrieve works schedules and instructions, assign labour and materials to jobs, and record customer signatures for completed works. Customers will be able to review estimates, monitor performance on live jobs and submit new requirements via secure login from the company's website. Emergency helpdesk personnel and managers will also have 24/7 access to the system across the internet via secure login.
The solution will handle thousands of scheduled works each week, and offer the company both administrative savings and improved customer service by automating routine tasks to allow staff to focus on more value-added activities. Response Managing Director, Andy Cornaby, said: "The system will allows us to respond faster and more effectively to customer requirements, and save us a small fortune in administration costs. Impact:applications demonstrated impressive credentials, really listened to what we wanted, and came in with a competitive price."
